Just as each of us has unlimited potential inside himself and herself, I believe that every woman has a fashionista within…regardless of whether she sees herself as capable of being a fashionista or not. And when I use the word ‘fashionista,’ I am using it to define a highly unique and personal style that EVERY woman has, whether she has discovered it yet or not. In today’s world. there is such an accumulation of information on social media available to the everyday woman and much of this information is advising her to embrace the latest trends and fads…which, I regret to say prevents her from being the authentic, one-of-a-kind being that she is.
Unlike some types of clothing, there is truly no ‘one-size-fits-all’ mindset that one can adopt when it comes to developing one’s inner fashionista. The type of outfit or the kind of accessories that may suit one woman might be completely unbecoming on another woman. And, although it’s true that rarely can a lady go wrong when she opts for that quintessential ‘LBD’ (little black dress), there are women who might not be well suited to the color black. Thus, I urge every woman to begin thinking for herself in terms of fashion and style. I will close with a fabulous favorite quote of mine from the legendary designer Gianni Versace, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.”
